With this entry I am going to inaugurate our new “home” on the Internet and the recently created category Inspiration.
many (me the first) we look for inspiration on the internet, magazines and DIY and decoration programs but it is not always easy to adapt what we see to what we have, either because of space or because we have a reduced budget, so when I saw this room I thought it was beautiful but also that it could inspire me to adapt it to me own space.
sofa and armchairs
In this room the sofa It is upholstered in gray and the armchairs with clear fabrics with matching motifs. Can change the color of the sofa and armchairs that we have thanks to a cover, and even if we are handymen we can do it ourselves. There are many models of elastic covers on the market that fit practically any type of sofa or armchair.

Coffee table
For the coffee table we just need primer and paint. To give it the look of aged silver that you see in the photo there are several techniques, one of them is to give it a first layer with a dark paint (black or brown) and then apply silver enamel with a wristband or old cotton cloth, pressing little by little so that some dark betas of the base paint are noticeable.
Bookshop
We already have a bookcase in the living room but it is not white although it is in good condition, perfect! We will only need primer and paint to make it white, although it can also be painted directly with special glaze for tiles, since its special composition does not require primer, I used it for the bookcase in our office:
walls/base
Painting is one of the easiest and cheapest resources to renovate a room. The room that inspires us is painted in a gray tone and has a white plinth at half height, But installing a skirting board requires skill and also comes with added expense.
With painter’s tape and a little patience we can simulate a skirting board at half height, for this we must use two shades of paint from the same rangefor example one white and one sand color, as well as painter’s tape to draw the boxes that will give depth to our painted plinth.
I usually
If we do not have a wooden floor, we can achieve a similar effect by installing a laminate flooring or also a vinyl flooring that is installed in a few hours and does not require any type of work. There are a wide variety of models on the market, but in addition to design, we have to keep in mind the soil quality that we are going to chooseespecially considering that the living room is a frequently used area.
Lamp
In our inspiration we can see the Ikea Maskros lamp that has a price of 79 euros, but if we want an even cheaper solution we can buy the Ikea Regolit lampshade (2.5 euros) and make a lamp with cupcake linersan easy and very decorative solution.
