The vinyl floors represent an economical and durable solution when it comes to renovating the flooring in our home without having to do any work. There are currently many designs that imitate parquet, ceramic tiles, marble, granite, carpet, etc., as well as different formats (tiles, planks, rolls…) that can be adapted to any space.

One of its main advantages is its quick and easy installation, does not require any type of work and only a cutter is needed to cut the pieces and adjust them to the floor of the room where we want to place it. We can choose the format of self-adhesive slats/tiles, floating installation (in one click) or applying glue directly on the pavement.

It is also abrasion resistant (wear due to friction, scratches, etc.) and prevents the formation of static electricity.

Their maintenance is easy, it is enough to wipe it with a damp cloth or a mop with warm soapy water. The most stubborn stains can be removed with alcohol but never use bleach or solvents as the design could be damaged. They can’t be left either. very hot objects above as they could irreparably degrade and deform the material.

at the time of choose a vinyl floor We must not only take into account the design, but also the intensity of use of the room where we are going to install it. For this we must look at what is called wear Layer, which is a fact that is reflected in the product specifications and that, for example, can be considered as the equivalent of the AC classification of laminate flooring.

The higher the wear layer, the higher the wear and impact resistance. Normally for offices, rooms and halls, use layers ranging from 0.08 mm (moderate use), through 0.20 mm (normal use) and up to 0.30 mm (intense use) are suitable. In the case of kitchens and bathrooms, a minimum of 0.20 mm (normal use) up to 0.30 mm (intense use) is recommended. For salons, the most suitable is 0.30 mm.

On the other hand, it is worth remembering that it is highly recommended choose a brand that guarantees the quality and durability of the productsometimes the price difference is only a few euros per square meter but in return we get a floor whose durability makes that price difference more than amortized.

Have you ever installed vinyl flooring? Have you taken into account the technical specifications or have you only been guided by the design? Are you happy with the result? We have installed it a week ago in our kitchen and although it is still early to assess the result, for now we are satisfied and we hope to have a new floor for a while.
