As there is less and less left for Mother’s Day, we will continue to see in the Felt workshop from scratch practical exercises designed especially for them. If last week I proposed to give you felt jewelry (you can see ideas and tutorials at this link), this week I thought of making a felt flower bouquetsince flowers are a very common gift on Mother’s Day.

The flowers are beautiful but they have the drawback that sooner or later they end up withering. A felt flower bouquet, In addition to not spoiling, it has the advantage that being a gift made by ourselves has more sentimental value for our mothers (or for whoever receives it).

The flower that I have chosen to make this bouquet has been the calla or water lily since it is a flower that stands out for its nobility and elegance. In addition, the white cove symbolizes purity, so I can think of no better way to represent the love and affection that exists between a mother and her son than with a calla lily bouquet.

you can find patterns of other types of flowers in this link.

You don’t need to know how to sew to make this felt bouquet.so I encourage parents to do it with their children to give to mom since it is simpler than it seems at first glance.

The materials What we will need are the following:

Felt white, yellow and green colors. I’ve personally used two different shades of yellow and two different shades of green to create different hues, but it’s not essential.

– Nail scissors. To cut pieces with rounded shapes, I usually use scissors with a curved tip (like the ones for nails).

textile glue.

Hot melt silicone gun.

– Some wooden sticks or rods for the stem, you can also use wire.

Satin ribbon or string to decorate the bouquet.

On the page of Felt workshop from scratch you will find the calla or water lily pattern. You can access it from this link.

The steps we have to follow are the following:

1º.- First We’ll cut all the pieces each of its corresponding color.

2º.- Then we will glue the pieces that form the flower with textile glue, To do this we will fix the yellow felt piece to the white felt piece and on the back we will glue the green piece.

3º.- The next step will consist of make the stem To do this, we will cut a strip of green felt one centimeter wide and wrap it around the wooden rod, fixing it at each end with a drop of hot-melt silicone.

4º.- Next we will simulate the stipe or elongated part that protrudes from the cove. To do this we will place a little silicone on the piece of yellow felt, we will surround the barilla or wire and we will fix the final part with silicone.

5º.- The last step will consist of attach the flower to the stemTo do this, we will place the stem in the center of the flower and wrap it around it as if it were embracing it, fixing the ends with a little hot melt silicone.

To finish we will glue a couple of elongated leaves to the stem.

Now all we have to do is make as many flowers as we want and decorate the bouquet with a satin ribbon or a rope.

Trick: Do you want your felt flower bouquet to smell like a real flower bouquet? Add a few drops of perfume to your flowers when you’re done.

Another option is to place several flowers on a recycled vase like the one in the image (you can see the step by step in this link).
