Hybrid polymer adhesive, test and contest

Adhesivo polimero hibrido - destacada

Next we will see the result of the load test with hybrid polymer adhesive and we will know the winner of the contest.

We will continue where we left off in the first part, that is, we will continue adding loads until the resistance of the hybrid polymer adhesive reaches the limit.

By the way, in case you have not seen the first part of this load test, we recommend that you watch it before continuing. Here is the link Hybrid polymer adhesive load test + Contest.

Load test result

Well, we have already reached the limit. So, now it’s time to count the added loads. But first, let’s look at a couple of things that we’ve observed.

If we look at the metal fixing, from which all the weight hung, we see that most of the polymer adhesive is still attached, which makes us think that this type of adhesive has greater adhesion to metals.

Look how the base that we have used has been left after the impact and whose weight is 65’600 kg. In addition to the top of the work table, which is made of solid wood, and which has been split. And that the fall has been only about 20 cm.

We leave out of the count the last weight, 14 kg, added that has made the polymeric adhesive collapse, and we write down the weight of all the loads one by one.

Well, we have verified that the 6 cmtwo of adhesive have endured 274’880kg. A very considerable load for such a small amount of polymer adhesive.

The numerous properties of this adhesive and its great resistance make us take it into account for our DIY projects.

Video of the test with the polymer adhesive

You better see it with your own eyes. We include below the video with the results of the tests with the hybrid polymer adhesive.

Winner of the competition

Well, now yes, we will see who has been the lucky one who has won the prize.

royalsupremyou were on the right track when you said that it would support 430 kg, but you have not taken into account that we have used about 6 cmtwoinstead of 10.

The one who has come closest to these 275 kg, without going over, has been our friend William Gutierrez, from Muriedas (Cantabria). That he has said that she would hold 185 kg.

Here we can see Guillermo with the contest prize, which is made up of:

  • An applicator gun for 300 ml cartridges suitable for all types of adhesives, silicones and chemical anchors.
  • The MO-H chemical anchor
  • And the High Tack adhesive that we will take today to the limit.

Congratulations William. A hug!!

By the way, you will have noticed that the workshop is that it seems that it has been robbed.

We have practically left it bare because the next thing we will do is soundproof the walls first, and then do the same with the ceiling, by installing an acoustic false ceiling.
