Materials:

• Diary paper.
• Scissors.
• Vinilic glue.
• Pencil.
• Skewers sticks.
• Acrylic paintings.
• Colorless varnish.
• Brush.

Summary of the steps to follow to carry out this craft:

First step: Cut the sheets of newspaper in half.

Second step: We roll up each sheet of paper, starting from one of its corners. For this we will help ourselves with a toothpick for skewers. We finish the operation by applying a little vinyl glue on the corner of the paper.

We will repeat this step as many times as necessary to be able to make the basket.

Third step: We cut two circular pieces of cardboard, the size we have chosen, both of the same diameter.

Fourth step: We crush all the paper rolls that we have prepared previously.

Take away step: We glue the paper rolls on the edge of the cardboard circumference, in a radial direction.

Sixth step: On the strips of paper, we glue the other circumference of cardboard, so that the paper rolls are between both pieces of cardboard. And let it dry well.

Seventh step: We glued a new roll of paper between both cardboards, and we began to intertwine this new strip of paper with the ones we had glued in a radial direction.

To this new strip, which we are intertwining, we will have to add more strips, joining them together with the same vinyl adhesive used up to now.

To carry out this step, we will use a cup or container or cylindrical object with a diameter similar to that of the cardboard pieces.

Eighth step: Now we cut the excess part of the radial strips, leaving a margin of about 3 centimeters.

Nineth step: We fold the excess that we had left in the previous step, and we stick it with the help of some small pieces of newspaper, wrapping the doubles with it.

Tenth step: Let dry well, and paint with acrylic paint of the color or colors you have chosen.

Eleventh step: Let dry well again, and apply several coats of clear varnish, following the manufacturer’s drying instructions.

It is important to give several coats of varnish since, with this, we will achieve greater hardness and greater protection against humidity.

And now we have finished our basket.
