In many cases, great knowledge, skills or time are not needed to create beautiful details with which to personalize our home, proof of this is these 3 DIYs that can be done in less than half an hour. It will almost take longer to read this post than to do any of them, you will see how easy it is to give that «I touched» different from a lamp, a trunk and a planter.

1.- DIY lamp with tape

We just need a nice ribbon to customize a ceiling light and that it integrates better with the rest of the decoration of the room. In this case the lamp that has been used is the model Arstid from Ikea. This model is completely white and has a pleated fabric that surrounds the screen, so to give it a little more life it has been surrounded with a gray organza ribbonwhich I have joined with a few small stitches.

In this way it has been integrated with the wallpaper letters that are silver. Also, being the organza ribbon, it does not subtract luminosity when the lamp is turned on.

This DIY supports multiple variants, if instead of an organza ribbon we use a satin ribbon or a cord, we can attach it to the edge of the lamp with a hot melt silicone gun. In addition, in any haberdashery we can find multitude of decorative ribbons that will bring that special and unique touch to our lampI chose a simple one because the wallpaper is already quite striking and I didn’t want to detract from it (do you remember the most common mistakes in decoration?).

2.- DIY upholster the interior of a trunk

This second DIY In addition to being decorative, it is functional. as lining the inside of the trunk with cloth, what we keep in it is better preserved.

I had had this wood and raffia trunk for a long time but I only used it to store magazines because the interior is made of stained wood without sanding or varnishing, so if I kept any plaid it would end up stained or snag. To fix this and give it a cozier internal look, I used cushion covers that I no longer used (fabric scraps can also be used), I cut them to size for the bottom and sides and attached them with a textile stapler.

First I stapled the background fabric leaving a small excess (a couple of centimeters) that rose to the sides. Then I made some hems to the fabric on the sides and fixed them with the iron (without sewing or anything). Finally I stapled the sides to the trunk both from the top and from the bottom (above the tab that we had left on the background fabric) and ¡voila! We already have the trunk lined.

how will you see you don’t even need to know how to sewIf you don’t have a stapler, it’s not a problem either, you can stick the fabric with a hot glue gun or with thumbtacks.

3.- DIY decorate a flower pot

The last DIY is the fastest of all. To do so you will only need colored vinyl (I used leftovers from other vinyl tunings that you can see HERE), a punch and a cord.

To brighten up this simple white plastic planter, I made some stars with blue and green vinyl and silver vinyl polka dots with a hole punch that is normally used to make holes in the sheets of paper in filing cabinets. To finish off the top, I put a cord that I had at home and that I fixed with a little hot glue.

In this quick and easy way we have given you more life and joy to the planter. You can do the same with terracotta, porcelain or glass vases.

as you may have seen there are no excuses not to do these DIY, In addition to being quick, they are easy and cheap since we can take advantage of scraps and leftovers from other crafts to make them. Do you dare?
