This is the first article that we will include in the “Have Fun Learning” section.
This section is primarily addressed to all parents, guardians and people who care for children. It is a guide that will help you to make the smallest of the house have their first contact with different plastic techniques and disciplines, but in a more informal and fun way, taking advantage of their inexhaustible creative capacity.
And what better way than to use the cartoon characters that they like the most.
On this occasion we want you to have your first contact with two-dimensional modeling. For this, the material that we are going to use is plasticine. An extremely easy and comfortable material to mold and manipulate. And we are going to do a simple but very attractive job for the little ones in the house. It is about the pig Peppa Pig; very famous cartoon character among children.
Materials:
- Plasticine of the following colors: pink, red, white and black.
- Rolling pin.
- Blade to cut and manipulate the dough. For the little ones, you can get them in plastic material.

Here is a summary of the tutorial:
Step 1: We’ll start with the head. To do this, we will have to mix pink with white plasti. Apply more or less amount to obtain the desired intensity. Knead well, until the color is homogeneous.
Calculate the amount and make a ball. Crush it with the roller, until it is about 2 or 3 millimeters thick… or whatever you want.
If you have gone over the amount or you have fallen short, nothing happens. She knead again and repeat this step.
With the plasticine knife, cut giving the shape of the head. You can do it by eye, or using a paper template.
Step 2: Make a ball with a piece of red plasticine and hit it with the roller. Cut it in the shape of Peppa’s dress.
Step 3: With a piece of plasticine of a darker shade of pink, make a spaghetti, and put it all around the head.
Also put it on the snout, along with two very small balls of the same color.
Step 4: With two pieces of pink plasticine, make the two ears.
Step 5: Make two balls with white plasti and one with red. Crush them and put them on the face. It will be the eyes and the blush.
For the pupils, put two very very small balls of black plasti.
Make another spaghetti, but this time smaller, with red plasti. It will serve us to make the mouth.
Step 6: With a few small pieces of pink, make the arms, the legs and the tail. See how we do it in the video.
Step 7: Finally, with two pieces of black plasti, make the shoes.

Another purpose of this video is for the little ones to learn that it is not necessary for things to be perfect the first time, but that we must learn from mistakes and, above all, that we must try to have fun in everything we do.
