The architect who built this folding and removable bed his name is Robert McPherson and he is a lover of everything related to the Middle Ages who usually attends an event held annually in Pennsylvania (United States), called «The Pennsic War«. For a couple of weeks, the more than 10,000 attendees camp in the area and recreate a medieval battle, it being common for them to build tents and furniture set in the era.

The furniture and constructions made by hand must be dismountable to facilitate their transport, in addition they are used pine or birch wood to which they give a satin polyurethane varnish finish to protect them from the elements. The hardware is also usually made by hand since on many occasions they are special measures.
Below you can see the closed trunk, at first glance it looks like a piece of furniture that can also be used as a bench or seat.

The handles on the sides make it easy to transport since it weighs approximately 45 kilograms.
